20250428T1430 20250428T1630 America/Sao_Paulo Study in Europe Roadshow – Internationalization and Interiorization challenges in Brazil.

Over the last 11 years, European internationalization support agencies from countries like Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Italy have focused on presenting Brazilian partners with funding opportunities and international scholarship programs for higher education access. This initiative, known as the Study in Europe Roadshow, differs from traditional foreign university fairs like Salão do Estudante, EducationUSA, and Estudar Fora in several key ways.

Firstly, the roadshow is free of charge for participants, and each event features an official country representative who can provide information and answer questions about the specific programs and characteristics of that country. Additionally, the roadshow partners with a local university to host the events, enabling more targeted meetings with interested institutes and researchers.

But the roadshow's uniqueness goes beyond these logistical details. It systematically visits all five regions of Brazil - North, Northeast, Midwest, Southeast, and South - rotating through different states to ensure nationwide coverage. Some agencies also work to develop deeper relationships with local agents in the states they visit. Importantly, the roadshow offers funding opportunities not just to students, but also to researchers and professors.

This session aims to discuss the roadshow's first 11 editions in Brazil, shed light on the path to more sustainable and horizon-expanding partnerships, and learn from other experiences. The participating agencies will present data on Study in Europe's participation numbers, university partnerships, and other collaborative projects that have emerged. Agencies from different countries will also provide additional perspectives to enrich the debate. Finally, it will be important to discuss the roadshow's challenges and future, and assess how to improve the proposal to ensure increasingly responsible and impactful international collaboration with local partners.

The Study in Europe Roadshow provides a platform for countries seeking to expand their partnerships in Brazil. It connects them with local partners who can help internationalization reach beyond major hubs and become more embedded throughout Brazil's vast landscape. The Faubai conference will further raise awareness of the program and its role in advancing the internationalization of higher education, research, and innovation.
